On March 31, 2025, the Co-op Curious Learners hosted a presentation by Laura Boyd-Clowes about the “Cow-op” – the Cowichan Valley Cooperative Marketplace. 

 “A farmers market meets the internet.”  The Cowichan Valley Cooperative Marketplace is a non-profit farmer and food processor co-operative with an online marketplace of locally grown and harvested food, featuring a variety of produce, meats, eggs, fruit, baking and more all grown or produced throughout the Cowichan Region. This is a convenient system for food producers and customers alike, as the farmers save time and buyers are able to shop from their computer year-round while directly supporting local family farms and businesses.  Farms take turns being the location for order pick-ups.  Alternatively, customers can request delivery to their homes.
